I'm not sure though if your version of Mint has that comand but try it anyways. pan0 seems to be your wireless interface instead of wlanx or rax.
Mine for reference with a atheros chip
Code:
harry@biker:~
$ inxi -n
Network: Card-1: Atheros AR5212/AR5213 Wireless Network Adapter driver: ath5k
IF: wlan2 state: up mac: 00:0b:a2:1c:eb:8f
Card-2: Realtek RTL-8139/8139C/8139C+ driver: 8139too
IF: eth1 state: down mac: 00:e0:4d:77:2c:76
Edit: plus the kernel you are running in Linux mint is pretty dated/old also. Mine for example
Code:
harry@biker:~
$ uname -a
Linux biker 3.4.2-antix.2-486-smp #1 SMP Mon Jun 11 13:42:17 EEST 2012 i686 GNU/Linux
You might want to check on
Code:
sudo iwlist pan0 auth
