Hello!

Hello, all!

I am new to this board. It seems so rich and varied, I had to join!

I am running Debian Sid (KDE version via Morphix to HD) on an HP Pavillion 8533Z with 10 Gigs on HD, and 128 megs RAM. I know, this is a thin system by today's standards, but I get along with it for the moment.

Just wanted to say hello to all on this board.

-Todd

Hello

I'd just like to say hello aswell. I'm also new to these forums and have only been using Linux(Slackware 10) for a few days. I've made a few posts and I've already got some useful advice on some of the hardware problems I've been having.

I've been wanting to have a look at Linux for a while because I felt that experiencing something other than Windows will broaden my knowledge of operating systems (an area which I'm interested in) and also give me more options for my future career.

I picked Slack (as a dual boot with Windows) because I wanted something different from the normal Windows environment which was a challenging and doesn't try to protect you from the big bad world of source code and low level ops.
