Scambled Shell

Hello all,

We all had this problem once of twice.
When you cat a Binary file sometimes the shell gets all scrambled and nothing can be read.
And the new input you write down gets messed up aswell. So the charset has changed.

Well, I tryed to fix this with some Exports back to UTf-8 but it didnt same goes for restarting the shell or anything like that.

Well, I always did reboot.. But now I cant..
So, well is there a Way to FIX it instead of working around it?

Thanks
Cheers,
Robin

It's odd but if you hit CTRL+V then CTRL+O then Enter, it will go back to normal (at least, it does for me).

CTRL+O switches to the standard character set. I'm not sure what CTRL+V does in this case.
