First please don't shout when you type in all caps that is considered shouting and it both is impolite and makes your posts difficult to read.
I am also new to Linux about three months new and the first book I bought was the Linux pocket guide. It is a small pocket size book that has essential commands in it and it is only ten dollars a must for a linux newbie trying to learn the command line.
amazon.com has lots of books on linux, programming...
True- But look carefully at the most recent update info for the book. Unfortunately a lot of which is just hitting the mass market is sadly outdated.
IMHO you would probably be better served by the online publications as referenced earlier in this topic and/or WIKI sites if one is available.
