My favorite to prevent telnet or ssh timeout is "read"

Alot of times I'll be mid session and get sidetracked or have to go look someting up, it keep the session from being closed.

Note: This is on a internal network only

Send a message via AIM to bpark
Code:
rm -rf *
Nothing beats that one.

Edit: FLW

None of the above should ever be executed from either root ( / ) or any of the defualt directories within linux. It's ok, but dangerous, for a individual group of files and direcories your created and don't want. Otherwise it will crash your system by deleting the wrong directory or files.

Well, I certainly know what my favorite MS Windows Command was.
Code:
 format c:
That always made my computer run more stable

Send a message via ICQ to scientica
Command of the day, hmm, that would be:
Code:
cat FreeNode\ \(formerly\ OpenProjects.net\)-#linuxforums.log | grep apr\ 13\ 08\: | sed s/scientica/`echo -en "\e[31mscientica\e[0m"`/g
(to satisfy my ego )

note: this nice command replaces "scientica" with "scientica" (<-- note the color change), for all messages printed on our nice IRC channel (<-- very subtile advertisment for our lovely IRC channel ) during the 8th hour or April 13th
