    Benchmarking the CPU in GNU/Linux?

I've been searching, asking and looking for any good, free CPU benchmarking programs for GNU/linux.
A variant of SPEC, Dhrystone and/or Whetstone would be great. In short, I'd like something to measure raw IPS (Instructions Per Second) and raw FLOPS. Does something like this exist for GNU/Linux? If so, what is it called, where can I get it?

    Thanks in advance!

    Check this thread.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
