CPU upgrade makes Linux freeze (Windows OK)
I have upgraded my CPU (pentium D 930 to Core 2 Quad 6600) and most of my Linux installations freeze. Most freezes happen when launching different programs at the same time (console, firefox and amarok for example) or loading a GUI. Windows XP works fine (under load, several days).

Problem solved (processor speedstep config problem)
I noticed that PCLinuxOS 2007 didn't crashed, but neither did any frequency/VID stepping, always maxed... so I tried to check this with my archiconfigurable distro: Archlinux.
I followed this wiki:
ArchWiki :: SpeedStep - ArchWiki
And used cpufrequtils. Had to configure each core too.
Need to check this in the other distros, but with the tests so far look fine. Thanks.
