    Make a partition ACTIVE

    Hello people My DVD drive tray is not opening, I somehow managed to open it and installed CENTOS 5. The problem i m facing i hav seperatly created a boot partition and installed grub in that. I'm already using Windows XP. Now I want to make this boot partition active and Boot both OSs. Is there any application in XP that supports toggling of boot flag. If any please let me know.

    There is no need to set active flag of boot partition. What does machine display at startup? Does GRUB Menu appear? What happens on selecting Windows OS or CentOS in GRUB Menu?
    Log in as root and execute this

    fdisk -l
    Post output here. Post the contents of /boot/grub/grub.conf file too.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    Mr.Casper I Forgot to mention i m not able to get the grub as i have installed it in a seperate partition and not on MBR and i forgot to make that boot partition active. So thats why i m askin you people to suggest some windows application that would me makin the boot partition as a active one.

    There is no need to set /boot partition active even if you have create a separate /boot partition.
    What do you want to achieve? Setup Windows Boot Loader or GRUB?
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
