i was actually going to ask if livecds are always slower, so according to that ark would eb really fast, being as it's livecd was fast, but again i want to eb able to use all of my stuff on my laptop before jumping in and saying "OH CRAP!"

After using liveCDs for a while, you'll find lots of other limitations using them, too, such as slow bootups, difficulties saving data, wear & tear on the CD/DVD drive, scratched/damaged disks, etc.

Yep, other than emergency and recovery operations, that's certainly all I'd ever use them for, but I do believe there are a few people out there using them as general distros, at least for brief periods of time. Not for me, though.

Yes, it's generally best to create a new thread when there's a new topic to be discussed. Doing so lessens the chance for any confusion.
