    Question ISP dropping carrier prob

Didn't quite know where to put this one. Apologies if it's in the wrong forum.
I'm running Ubuntu 7.10 and XP SP2 on dual boot and my isp is dial up. I've been trying to download Mandriva 2008 but my ISP will disconnect after 4hrs. It's a 48hr download. My dialer will re-connect and download mgr will pick it back up, but with that many drops the file is to corupt to be of any use. Does anyone know of any software for either xp or Unbutu that will deal with this?

You can find some options for download managers here.

If it were me, I'd order Mandriva from one of the Linux CD/DVD vendors that sell them, because any 48 hour download would always have a good chance of becoming corrupted, at least in my opinion.

Best of luck with it whichever way you go.

I tried a ping program but it didn't work so I guess I'll have to shake the moths out of my wallet and get on Ebay for this.
