Directory automatically converted into file

Hello Friends,

I have a strange problem in my web hosting server. Many of my users home directories are converted into files AUTOMATICALLY!!! . It is a virus like activity. At first it happened once in a month. But the gap is closing in and now it happens almost everyday.

I am knowing about this only when the owner of that account starts shouting at me. I had made a script that will take the daily backup of the script but I doubt it happened again even before the script started executing.

Now I am checking with the chkrootkit. Please help me if anyone has gone through this kind of problem before.

Hello,

I have checked the server with the ./chkrootkit tool. But could find nothing suspecious on the server. The problem happens for many of the home directories on the server.

Please help me..
