Is there a quick way to rename a lot of files by date?

    Here's what I' m trying to do:
I have a personal log that that is written on paper, & have scanned it in to archive it on a CD or DVD. When using Krita it goes in /home in as kscan001,kscan002 ...
Is there a way to rename kscan001,kscan002 ... into dates like 1-10-04, 1-11-04 without having to do it one file at a time?

    Thanks daark.child,
I installed it & have been messing around with it on some test files I made. It's not 100% of what I was after, but 99% is way better than what I had.
