distro for usb harddisks (no flash sticks)?
Hi!
I am currently looking for a distro with the following features:
- designed for external harddisks
- not designed for flash sticks
- no minimalistic distro
- I prefer gnome (no flame against other desktops it`s just a personal preference).
- as easy as possible (like Ubuntu)
- support to encrypt the hole disk
I found lot`s of minimalistic distros for flash sticks but none which was marked as usb harddrive friendly.
For internal harddisk I like Ubuntu because it`s easy. But installing it on external usb devices and encrypt it is still a big mess with console.
Anything you can recommend me for that purpose?

You can install any Linux distro in USB Harddisk. Just make sure that your machine's BIOS should support booting up from USB disk.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
