Linux Clustering on Ultrasparc Nodes
Hi Guys
Ive been using linux a while, but am still a newbie
I have acquired a Cluster of 40 nodes (all untrasparc IIe's)
Each node has a 20GB HDD and 128MB of ram, 2 10/100 ethernet ports and no vga or anything.
Question is, what can I do with it, and how the hell do i set it up?
I am doing this as a fun project,
Question is, do I set it up as a cluster (what are the diff types?)
or can I set them up to run individually, (like 40 low cost dedicated web servers)
Also how do I install to them?
The master has a CD drive

20GB disk space is enough to run cluster services but with 128MB of physical memory i'm not sure what cluster resources you could run on it. httpd & mysql resources should not run on this nodes!
BTW, you still have a chances by limiting the nodes from 40 to 30 or 20 nodes. Then simply transfer all physical memory from unused nodes to cluster nodes that's you're going to use. Make each nodes with atleast 256MB or 512MB of ram.

Hiya
Thanks for the reply
If I were to run them as a webserver, they would not be clustered, but run as standalone servers.
