Make sure java lib path is correct.
You may need to change thae path....
ln -s /opt/jre1.6.0_04/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libjavaplugin_oji.so

it is my current understanding that sun jre does not provide a 64 bit browser plugin
- 06-18-2008 #6No, sun does produce a 64 bit version but it's not very reliable. Issues like this one are very common - that's why I always advise people to install the 32 bit version of Ubuntu rather than the 64 bit. There are some other issues too, Flash for example.it is my current understanding that sun jre does not provide a 64 bit browser pluginDistribution: Archlinux
Processor: 3 x Amd 64 bit
Ram: 4 GB
Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT

Hi folks,
Thanks for your advice.
This is a 64 bit server box. I run web browser only occassionally. I have solved the problem of flash and vedio player plugins on this 64bit box leaving behind java plugin unsolved. They are working w/o problem. I trust 64bit java plugin can be solved. I read some document on online. But testing the solution on server is not preferred. I'll continue watching the development on 64bit java plugin. Thanks
