    text boot to graphical

    hi buddies,
    Let me know if there is anyway to change from the text boot to graphical in any linux, currntly Knoppix.
    I am having probelm booting two linux, collision of /. so i did not installed any graphical boot, and prefred to boot from floopy.. Graphical boot gives garbage screen, nothing to see.
    now i can boot in text. Tellme how to change to graphical, either from command line, or changing config file.
    any way?

    did you try startx?

    please clarify if you want to start gui after logging in or want to boot default into gui. For the latter you have to edit /etc/inittab and change the default runlevel to 5 from 3
