    can't transfer files to external?


    I am trying to move some of my video/music files on my external and most when I try to do this say error and won't do it, any ideas why?

    i'm going to take a wild guess, and say that your external is formated to NTFS, which your distro might not be able to handle. to know for sure though, you'll have to tell us your distro, what kind of external (usb external hdd, flash drive, esata drive, firewire, those kind of details.) and copy the error message here (they may look cryptic, but often they give a lot of information)
