Wanted: LiveCD with no GUI
I've been looking and I can't find a LiveCD distribution that doesn't have Gnome or KDE set up. Most of the time I just want a nice, tight terminal to get in and fix whatever problem there is, but not only does the GUI take an extra 10 minutes to load but I have a few machines that won't load a live CD and I suspect it's the graphical elements.
So does anyone know of a nice terminal only live CD with a rich tool set?

Hi and Welcome !
You can use Debian NetInstall CD. It has minimal packages. You can install necessary packages and create customized LiveCD.It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Hmmm.....Well, in addition to be a little more work than I wanted to do(I'd have to move some machines around to connect to an ethernet line, everything is wireless) I don't know how to make a live CD.
Is there an easy way to make one?

Also look at system rescue cd: Main Page - SystemRescueCd I believe it boots into the console by default, but also has a lightweight graphical desktop if you want it.
Arch Linux boots into a live console environment as well. Arch Linux
