AMD or INTEL
I know there was a thread about AMD and INTEL but i got a ques. what would be better for me to use if i was going to be using these programs:
Steam, Counter-Strike-and other games, GAIM, Adobe Photoshop, listening to music, a file transfering prog.-like that gift prog, while on Gentoo Linux with Gnome desktop.I would probably have a few progs going at the same time like CS and GAIM and maybe the internet. things say AMD cpus also are cooler than intel USUALLY
My other specs would be:
1gb of mem.
128-256mb graphics card
I think AMD would be the better to use but you tell me what you think.

Either will be fine. It is all a matter of personal preference, and I have usually heard intel processors run cooler than AMD.

it is said that in the domain of 64 bit CPUs
the AMD64 is much cooler than IA64
if you would run a 64 bit operation system or software in the future
i suggest you select AMD.
