All services just died

Red Hat 7.2 machine, running for many months.
Does real-time processing of data 24/7, so it is
always chugging away on data (not high loads).

Anyways, this weekend the Apache server died
and I was not able to ssh into the box. So I go
to visit the box in person and notice that almost
all of the services are not running.

No apache, no mysql, no syslogd, no sshd, etc.
Seems to barely have enough stuff to stay "up".

The logs show nothing abnormal. Any idea on
what might cause something like this to happen?
We run RH 7.2 on several boxes with no issues.

Possibly just a freak occurance, but thought that
I would ask around just in case it sounds familiar.

We are thinking that the cause was either a
run out of memory problem or a maxed out
partition that caused a catastrophic error.

So far, it is anyone's guess. Very strange.

I don't think that it was because you ran out of memory anyway. In that case the kernel usually just kills large processes, and leaves traces through klogd.
