Linux to XP using Y Messenger

I chat often with my girl friend using Yahoo Messenger. She is using Linux and I am using Windows XP Home. We have a problem with images. When she shows as online in my Messenger window and I open a chat window, her avatur is visible, and my webcam symbol is active. As soon as she starts to type the avatur disappears and my webcam symbol is greyed out and becomes inactive. She cannot send me her webcam either. Chat by typing works fine, but we would really like to see one-another as well. Is there any fix for this problem?....Thanks. Mike M.

The original Yahoo Messenger version for Linux is lame, and Clients like Gyatche or Pidgin does not support all the Yahoo IM features.

The best way is to switch to IM which is supported on both platform like
    Skype(VoIP) or Ekiga(SIP)

If anythign doesn't workout, take her on date or buy expensive gifts
    Never make any misteaks.
