Changing permissions
I would like to change the following with Chmod if possible:
-rwsr-sr-x 1 root dip to -rwsr-sr-x 1 root root. (only change dip to root., or if I
understand it correctly...change dip group to root group.

You need to be root to do this - chgrp root filename
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
