    They are most definately penguin friendly but support is poor,and there can be quite bad lag at times.

    For the past 2 months internet access has bombed out every weekend. Usually drops sometime saturday and retuens sometime sunday. Last weekend was off from saturday morning to monday sometime. Not acceptible, hence the need to change.

    I use AOL UK with my SuSE 9.1 install.

    3COM ethernet card.

    D-Link ADSL-504T modem/router.

    No problems so far(apart from having to disable ipv6 in SuSE).

    I am on a telewest line. Used to connect via modem (56k) to freenet/telco4u. They worked fine (once tried freeserve and that worked fine too). Now i'm on Telewest's broadband connected with a USR 10/100 nic and it works fine too.
