i have a lot of different machine in my domain and i'm looking for a tool that can give me hardware information. i have seen in the /proc directory but some information like serial number or memory slot used aren't.

i remember the dos tool "smb16.exe". he give a lot of information like this :

my distribution is fedora core 2 but i have the same problem with redhat or mandrake.

i can't find a response on the net or on the book i read. perhaps somebody can help me ?
