i know is it possible to use the mouse in the shell without X, it is possible in the "SLAX LiveCD", is it possible in other distros like "Mandrake 10.0"???...

i have never seen the mouse work without X as it is X that controls the mouse.
could be wrong but in 3 years of use i have never seen it

it's call gpm. it allows you to cut and paste in a virtual terminal, but that's about all it's good for. not sure if it's installed on mandrake by default but do
and see if it's there. read the man page to learn how to get it going. if you dont have it you could probably get it off the web somewhere.Code:man gpm
