how to recognize an exturnal monitor blindly?
I have a laptop w/ a broken screen and a desktop monitor.- I'm trying to run a puppy linux boot disk. how can i get the computer to recognize the external monitor blindly?

If you have a docking station so you can start the computer with the cover closed, then it will automatically switch to the external port. If you don't have a docking station, then you might be able to close the cover quickly enough after hitting the power button to get the same effect. Don't know about that.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
