usb digital i/o interface
Does anyone know of a reasonably priced I/O interface that can be connected from USB? I want to be able to control some home made electronic devices with my Linux PC.
Pretty much like this interface: Industrial Computer,Automation & Embedded Computers Solutions - Advantech eStore - buy.advantech.eu
But rather reasonably priced *and* known to work from Linux!

Not realy the same, but youn can use an Arduino (or compatible) board. The chip only is a few buck, the board is about 25$. But it has less I/O and it's not opticaly isolated. But also, it has embedded processing capability.

This is definately cool stuff at a very reasonable price! For the difference in price I can easily add my own opto couplers. There is even a local reseller and instructions for Ubuntu
I especially like Arduino - ArduinoBoardMega
Thnx!
Other hints / tips / alternatives are still welcome.

If you adding your own stuff, the Nano is very cool as it can easily be include in a PCB. (But less I/O than the Mega board).
