When you say stalled, how long have you let it sit there? Is there any disk drive activity or error msg?

    Also have you tried

To install a package: rpm –ivh
    ex. rpm -ivh somepackage.rpm

    or

To see if a package is installed: rpm -q [packagename]
    ex. rpm -q somepackage.rpm

    and

To get info on an installed package: rpm -qi [packagename]
    rpm -qi somepackage.rpm

Let us know what, if anything you get.
