dual boot/redhat 9 and windows xp pro

ive just set up my pc with redhat 9 and xp but dont know how to put on my internet??its a cable modem ive got the cd for it but redhat wont boot it,,any help or info would be great! its only took me a year to work out how to dual boot it

Ok you should allready be connected ntl use DHCP. Plug the cable into your ethernet card and type ifconfig into a shell and post the output please.

On a red hat machine under KDE click ont the red hat, in the menu go on system and click here on the apps call terminal
Btw: go here http://www.redhat.com/docs/ I'm sure u will find some interesting things

when i put my modem cd in it auto boots but redhat can not open it,saying it cant read it?when i try the internet wizard it tells me i need an ethernet card??????????but with windows its just this modem i use??????i first heard about linux approx 2 years ago i got redhat 9 last year ive been trying to dual boot since then.i finally got it right a couple of nights ago.now i got my internet and printer to install
