    how do I resume the terminal session after pressing [Ctrl-S]??? After doing that to all the other terminals, I had to force a hard shutdown

    Ctrl-Q maybe??? I seem to remember from a long time ago that Ctrl-S will stop the terminal and Ctrl-Q starts it back up again.

    yes Cntl S and Cntl Q are flow control !
