Problems with chat rooms?
Hello all, just joined this forum and hope someone can solve this mystery I have come across with Linux. I have used Linus for 10 years at least, preferring Mint; Mepis and Knoppix. For some peculiar reason I cannot now use chat rooms. The page logs in perfectly alright, but cannot send any private messages. When I try to do so, the page locks up. This happens in all the Linux OS I have tried except Knoppix (which I am using at the moment). The chatroom in this case is:
trulyhuge.com/chat.htm
I have even disabled all the ad blocks running, but to no avail.
Thanks in advance for any help forthcoming. Oh, byt the way, this did not use to happen on older versions of the distros I mentioned above.

Does this happen in all browsers?

My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

Hi and thanks for the reply. Yes, this happens in all the browsers I try except Iceweasel, but that is only in Knoppix. Firefox, Google Chrome and Chromium all freeze.

Do these chat rooms require any type of plugin?
Aside from the standard Flash or enabling Java?Jay

I do not respond to Private Messages asking for Linux help. Please, keep it on the public boards.

nope, just the standard flash and Java. I got round the problem by using Mint 10. It did work on Mint11, but if you update it stops working. Thanks for the help
