LILO and external hard drives
Hey. I recently got a Maxtor OneTouch USB external hard drive, and LILO seems to have problems with the device. My laptop is a dual-boot machine with both Mandrake and Windows XP. If I ever boot my laptop with the drive plugged in and turned on, LILO will lock up at a text screen either showing "L" or "LIL" and not do anything. Only if the external drive is unplugged and/or turned off will LILO load up normally, and it's a bother to keep switching the drive on and off all the time. I've tried switching the USB port the drive is plugged into, but I can't fix this problem. Has anybody else ran into this problem with external hard drives, and if so, do you know of any fixes?

Since you dont load anything from the USB drive, I had to disable USB booting in BIOS... not sure if it was the exact thing that fixed it but it worth a try
