    Removing android from Motorola Droid Sholes / Voles a855

    So I want to take Android off the Sholes/Voles I have for Verizon and compile something else for it. I have played with building kernels for the beagleboard xM and my ARM Chromebook and want to gain more experience, and make a new toy :P

    Looking in the omap Kernel sources I see the headers in the config files:

    Code:
    /*
     * linux/arch/arm/mach-omap2/board-sholes.c
     *
     * Copyright (C) 2007-2009 Motorola, Inc.
     *
     * Modified from mach-omap3/board-3430sdp.c
     *
     * Copyright (C) 2007 Texas Instruments
     *
     * Modified from mach-omap2/board-generic.c
     *
     * Initial code: Syed Mohammed Khasim
     *
     * This program is free software; you can redistribute it and/or modify
     * it under the terms of the GNU General Public License version 2 as

     */

    Downloading 3.12 Kernel I see that there are still board-3430sdp files in there as well as files for the zoom2 which is also based off of the 3430sdp if I recall correctly.

    How do I go about patching the kernel from 2.6.xx to 3.12 ?
    Also when I get to it, what needs to be done with the initrd ram disk image?

    You might get better luck on XDA developers forum with that particular question
