    raid question - 2 instances, dont crash if 1 hdd fail


    I need hdd raid which:

    - keeps data in 2 places accross raid
    - dont interupt service if one hdd fails in raid

    which raids are cheapest achieving this and recommended?

    Just stay way from RAID 0 and you'll be okay. Understanding RAID is big topic and an key factor is how big your budget is. RAID 1 is probably what you want because it is the least expensive to implement it just mirrors two disks, all other levels of RAID require more disks.
