    open terminal

    Code:
    cd /etc
    Then

    Code:
    ls
look through the list. Look for issue, os-release, issue, net. I am just mentioning ones I know of but I do not know what Kali has for files in /etc.

then while still in /etc in terminal

    Code:
    cat issue
or whatever other name is there like os-release or issue.net.
