    Fast Linux


    I need a faster version of Linux. My current version of linux which is suse linux 9.1 runs way to slow on my comp. If there are any faster linux's out there then tell me.

    SuSE 9.1 runs like a scalded dog on my computer. I can't imagine why it would be slow for you although I suspect hardware issues which is usually the case. You may want to look at BeatrIX. I understand it's pretty fast out of the box. Also, try a lighter DE such as Fluxbox, XFCE or my favorite, IceWM.

    Also, was looking for fast and small linux. One that can downloaded using a dial-up serivce.

    Not recommended for noobs, but if you want a challenge, and a system that will run fast as hell, try gentoo.
