I have a lexmark z25 printer under Mandrake Linux 9.1, but it doesn't print. I've already downloaded the drivers from Lexmark's site but it still doesn't work...

I have a lexmark z25 printer under Mandrake Linux 9.1, but it doesn't print. I've already downloaded the drivers from Lexmark's site but it still doesn't work...
Please help me...

I normally use www.linuxprinting.org for my printing requirements, it has a lot of information on it.
Unfortunatly, the site is increadably slow at the moment, making it practically un-usable.
Its normally ok, lets hope it is a short term thing.

No support for Lexmark z25
There in no support for my printer in www.linuxprinting.org and the problem remains...

Well man, looks like you share the same problem with me, except that I have installed Mandrake 10.0 in my PC.
I just came to understand what to do some hours ago. Perhaps it works in your case. Who knows.
Here is the list to do:
1.- Start KDE(BEST THING IN THE WHOLE WORLD!!!)
2.- Look for kprintmanager(the printer manager in KDE)
3.= Install the Lexmark Z35 CUPS drivers(REQUIRED)
4.= In the Printer Properties page you can set up the controller you want. Change it. Select LEX...PPD.GZ, which should be in /usr/share/cups.
5.= Apply. Thats it.
