    Installing Game Engines & OS on Game Systems


    What is up with all this stuff of compiling game engines on game systems like the xbox and ps2, and installing linux on these systems, what is the point for it and what does it do?

    well i dont know from proof, but theoretically if you can get a working Linux distro onto an XBox, then surely you can play games you could under linux. Thus, you could possibly play PC games such as Quake and Half Life on it.......

    ...expanded games library dude.

    its more for kicks and giggles, but the xbox is a 150 dollar computer, its surprisingly cheap, you could run a lowend webserver on it for 150........
