    Write A New Linux Dekstop

I was wondering if it would be a good idea to write a new and different linux desktop, or a desktop for linux. Or if there are any suggestions for what features would be in a new linux desktop

Constructing a linux desktop is an enourmous undertaking, there really isnt uch of a nitch still open for a desktop, the only one that hadn't really been filled was recenly taken by xfce's 4.2 release.

If you're not happy with what's out there now, there's nothing stopping you from taking the parts you do like and mixing em up into your own. For example, perhaps you would use the xfce panel, rox desktop, and fvwm window manager. Or instead of making a new one, modify an existing one to suit your needs better. There's really not much sense in making a whole new desktop, there's already 100 or more out there. Kinda like Linux distros. No sense in any new ones, or even most that are out there, imo.
