winamp for linux
YESTERDAY I DOWNLOAD WHAT SEEMES TO HAVE BEEN WinAMP for linux download location seems to have pointed to the winampsite but after installing it i cant find it on my system,
tried whereis winamp, with diffrent spellings
whatis, nothing.... perhaps i have installed a backend app and now need the front end to it or maybe its a freakin trojan horse who knows.
does anyone here know if winamp was ever ported to linux??
i searched the winamp webpage and found nothing??

xmms is the port sorta. it should have came with your distro. what are you running?

Yep, XMMS, the X MultiMeda System, is an audio player for UNIX systems. It looks and feels very, very much like WinAmp.

incase you did not know, to run it either press ALT+F2 then type "xmms" in the command line. or go into a terminal and type "xmms". of course if you wish you can make a desktop icon that can run this for you

Well checkit out, I know what xmms is, and how to run it, (thank you though, my friends) I did a search for WINAMP for linux and it gave me the download site that a allowed me to download a 1.5 meg rpm of winamp for linux.
now you guys are freaking me out, Ill have to uninstall this packages just incase.

XMMS can handle Shoutcast. At least it says so on the Features page at xmms.org.
