Okay, so I didn't answer the question, but the answer is somwhere in here. You might want to look at Slax, from Slackware. At their website, check on ZipSlack , as well: it's intended for booting from a 100Mb Zip disk. edit: or from "any FAT (or FAT32) filesystem with about 100 MB of free space"/IMHO

Knoppix is my favorite... it's the closest thing to a full fledged distro I've ever seen in a LiveCD, Slax is also good
