Bootable CD Image
I have been trying to make a bootable cd for Linux, however i cannot do it, has anyone got an image of a bootable CD with nothing else on it which i can download?

Do you mean you just want a disk with a bootloader on it, like grub or lilo?

I would like to make a CD that will have a basic version of linux load up.
No bootloaders, just a shell i can make some scripts for to install my own version of linux.

Have you looked at Damn Small Linux? It's one of the more functional tiny distros (about 50Mb).

I was just thinking about that sort of thing myself, but more of a rescue cd,
Thanks for suggestings a distro, i always like to avoid that sort of question

There's also sysresccd, which (if you follow their online instructions) will even let you customize the CD...it's a bit larger, but it is a really powerful rescue cd:
