Whenever i load up RedHat 9 it scans my comp for sound, modem, eth0, video, and other stuff. Is there any way that i can prevent redhat from making this system check??? Any help is appreciated!

Is it annoying you in some way? Anyway, I guess that what you're referring to is kudzu. Just do this:
Code:rm /etc/rc.d/rc?.d/S??kudzu
