Hi everybody!

I have to backup my linux system with "dd" and I would like to know the procedure till the restoration.

I've read the man and the only thing I'm sure is that this command should work:
$> dd if=disk of=image
but someone can tell me exactly how to use bs and count parameters and particularly how to restore the system with the backup image.
I forgot one more thing : Are there some special things to do if you want to create only partition image instead of disk image?

It would be grate if you could help me
