Indeed there is; it's called gaim. You should use at least version 0.60, though. If your distro doesn't ship with it or with a version prior to 0.60 (I believe many ship with 0.59), go to http://gaim.sourceforge.net/ and download 0.66.

ok i downloaded gaim 0.65 but i cant seem to find it
or run the file

Didn't it install itself under the program menu? Well, in that case, just run "gaim" from the run dialog.
