    config yahoo messenger in fc2



    hi ,
    i have installed yahoo messenger (rh9.ymessenger-1.0.4-1.i386.rpm) in fc2.
    Then i use "swift surf" as auxillary proxy server (setting it as local host).
    It worked for some 3-4 days but has stopped working after that.
    I've reinstalled evry thing ...also tried the same config many time but all invain...
    please help me how to use ymessenger in fc2 .

    PS: Giving direct proxy server settings at messenger doesn't help here at IITK.This i know for sure.

    1) this version is for Red Hat 9 apparently, not for Fedora Core.
    2) why do'nt you use Gaim? Comes standard with FC (and Gnome), and it's a great IM that supports (amongst others) Yahoo! Messenger, MSN Messenger, Jabber,... It will save you a lot of trouble.

    I did'nt even know they made a linux-version of yahoo!

    Well, well, how could I know? the only mail-services I've used was netscape mail, hotmail and gmail.

    hi,
    well...i think GAIM doesn't support "signing as invisible" mode which is very necessary for me.
    All i can do in it is to sign as visible and then go invisible.
    Thats why i want yahoo..
    I've heard that many ppl r using it in fc2 also.
    Plz let me know what package i have to use for that.
