    understanding the LINUX directories


    Hello -
    As I've been playing around with some of this linux business I've come to realize that a thorough knowledge of the directory structure of linux is necessary - I don't have one... Does anyone know of a good overview or want to take the time to explain to me how the structure is set up -> I have a couple of books but it doesn't explain the theory or the functional aspects of the direcotries. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
