Linux Optimization
I just wanted to know what tools one would need to optimize Linux system. what are some things a regular user can to to optimize a system for say ones laptop or a machine running amd proccessor?? Any basic rules that apply?
like removing uncessary services.

i suppose recompileing the kernal for only your hardware and stopping any services that you dont use would be a good place to start.. dunno how though;)

Yes...verify what you things you start and if it is nessasary and if you dont need it turn it off.
