Linux help! winXP is being stupid....again
I have been told that you can get passed a windows xp user login password using a linux disk, by booting windows through linux, the one problem is im not sure how this works. A friend of mine his computer is being "tempramental" and wont let him log onto his computer, and he is sure that the password he is using is the right one. so can anyone help me with this little problem?

what you would do is get a live-cd of linux (knoppix or mepis are good ones) and search out the thread in this forum that talks about this (lazy arn't I)
or you could just boot in safe mode (hold f8 during start up) and select the admin account with out a password (sometimes an old password) and use it to change the password on your account.
-hows that for windoze security? (or lack thereof)

That only works for WinXP Home, not WinXP Professional.
