Linux Kernel Parameters
My hardware died. Kaput! DEAD!.
Installed new hard drive and rebuilt Linux Enterprise WS V4. Now I needed to install Oracle and a big portion of the install is the modification to the Kernel Parameters. According to Oracle docs, these parameters are stored in the '/etc/sysctl.conf' file. Well the file is there, but the specific parameters,
'kernel.shmall, kernell.shmmax, kernel.shmmni', etc are not listed in the file.
I had oracle successfully installed prior to the meltdown and according to my notes, modifed these parameter in the initial install.
Does anybody have any idea why my reinstall of the O/S does not have these parameter listed in the file?
